Fractional Lux 1540™ is a non-ablative laser that divides up light energy into micro beams that target surface skin cells and the mid layers of skin. These micro beams create deep narrow columns in the skin to stimulate the body’s natural healing response to form new healthy tissue. This laser is exceptional in that it treats both the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin without down time.   • Step 3: Infuse
    This final step infuses hydrators, peptides, vitamins, natural brighteners and antioxidants such as hyaluronic acid, and vitamin C into the skin using a special hyperbaric oxygen wand.
  • Step 2: Oxygenate
    During this step, a mask specific to your skin care needs is applied to the skin under the Oxygen Dome mask which pumps pure oxygen into the skin to allow for better product penetration and hydration.
  • Step 1: Exfoliate
    This step exfoliates the skin to remove dead skin cells using an oxygen and microdermabrasion wand while infusing an exfoliating serum and pressurized oxygen simultaneously into the skin.

  • Cancellation Policy
    We understand that occasionally you may have to cancel an appointment with us. As a courtesy to our clients and staff, it is company policy for all clients to give 24 hours notice of cancellation. Failure to do so will result in a $50+ (based on treatment) rescheduling fee.
  • Refunds
    All laser treatments/packages, spa treatments, skin care products, and Gift cards are not refundable. All sales are final.
  • Contraindications
    A contraindication is a condition or factor that can deem a patient not suitable for a particular treatment. There can be many contraindications to a treatment. In order to ensure you are a suitable candidate for treatment, you must complete our medical history form in our office. If in review of your medical history we find that you are not a suitable candidate, we may require that you obtain a medical clearance from your doctor or we may recommend another treatment route. You may also advise the front desk of any medical conditions at the time of scheduling to find out if you may not be a candidate.
  • Children
    All children under the age of 14 are not permitted in the treatment rooms. Also, eye protection must be worn by all persons in the treatment room during all Laser and Light based treatments. We are not responsible for any unattended children.
  • Preparing for treatment
    Please read all the information provided on our website about the particular treatment(s) you would like to receive, this way you may get some idea of what to expect, and how to prepare. You will also receive e-forms prior to your appointment that will also include any pretreatment instructions. i.e. The treatment area must be clean shaven before Laser Hair Removal treatment. Please shave the area within two days before your appointment. If you arrive unshaved, a $25 shaving fee will be incurred.
  • Packages and Expirations
    All packages and treatment sessions will expire if inactive for over 6 months. Any unused credit or gift cards will expire after one year from date of purchase/ issuance. Please contact us if you need to freeze your package for any medical reasons i.e. pregnancy. Packages/ treatments sessions are non transferable.
  • Gratuity
    Industry standard for gratuity is typically 15% - 20% based on the quality of service received. Gratuity is accepted by cash or Venmo. Tip envelopes and Venmo QR codes are available at the front desk for your convenience. Gratuities are not included in your service price, and are greatly appreciated.
  • Punctuality
    When booking services at Bare Skin and Laser, your appointment is scheduled with a therapist, whose time is allocated exclusively for your scheduled treatment. If you are late for a scheduled appointment, our company policy offers you two options: You may opt to shorten your treatment. You may prefer to reschedule your appointment at a more convenient time, however, a rescheduling fee will be incurred.
  • Injectable Appointments
    Physicians, Physician Assistants, or Nurse Practitioners providing services in our facility on an appointment only basis are independent contractors and payment will be rendered directly to the Physician, PA, or NP. Any questions or concerns must be handled by the Physician, PA, or NP directly. Bare Skin and Laser holds no responsibility for any procedures performed by the Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Therapists
    All Bare Skin and Laser therapists are New York State Licensed Estheticians and Certified Laser Technicians. You can rest assured that you will be getting the best care available by experienced and knowledgeable staff.
  • Payment Information
    We accept credit cards (American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover), cash, Bare Skin and Laser Gift Cards and SpaWeek Gift Cards. Gift cards are not valid on injectable services. We do not accept personal checks. Financing options may also be available, please ask for more information.
  • Belongings
    If you happen to leave behind any belongs in our office, we will do our very best to try to recover those items for you as we have been lucky to do thus far. However, we can not be responsible for any lost items.
  • Booking Appointments
    Appointments can be made easily online or by phone at 914-747-9600. A credit card is required at the time of booking to hold appointments.
  • HOW LONG DOES A TYPICAL LASER HAIR REMOVAL SESSION TAKE?
    The length of the session depends on the size of the area. Typically, a treatment can take as little as 10 minutes for a small area or up to an hour or more for a larger area such as the back or legs.
  • WHAT DO LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENTS FEEL LIKE?
    Laser Hair Removal is very tolerable. The hand piece cools and soothes as it is pressed against the skin. When the light pulse is delivered, some patients describe a warm, mild pinching, or stinging sensation. No local anesthesia or pain medication is required. Our Palomar system uses advanced cooling technology making it the least painful of all systems.
  • WHAT HAPPENS AFTER A LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT?
    Immediately after your treatment, you may return to your normal activities. The area may appear slightly red and swollen. The use of sunscreen is recommended on any treated areas that may be exposed to the sun. Avoid direct sun exposure to the area for a week after treatment. Seven to ten days after your treatment, the treated hair will begin to shed. Hairs that were not actively growing during the treatment may continue to grow, but it is permissible to shave. The treated hair will not grow for the next few weeks until you are ready for your next treatment.
  • HOW MANY LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?
    Hair grows in three cycles: Anagen (active), Catagen (regression), and Telogen (resting). Since the laser targets the hairs in the Anagen phase , and only a small percentage of hair are in this phase at any given time, several treatments are required. Most areas require 6-10 treatments for a 80-90% reduction or higher. Maintenance treatments may be required.
  • WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
    Laser Hair Removal is extremely safe. Although few side effects are experienced, some may notice a slight reddening and local swelling of the skin, similiar to a sun burn. These effects may last up to several hours. In rare instances, blistering can occur.
  • HOW DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL WORK?
    Lasers safely remove unwanted facial and body hair by selectively targeting melanin (pigment) inside the hair follicle. A beam of light is emitted, which passes through the skin down into the hair to the root of the follicle. The light energy is converted to heat energy, damaging the follicle.
  • IS IT COMPLETELY PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL?
    Technically, no. No Laser or IPL Hair Removal device has ever been proven or FDA approved to permanently eliminate ALL hair, forever, for everyone. This does not mean that it is impossible to achieve permanent hair removal. However, Laser Hair Removal can (and is FDA approved to) permanently reduce hair growth. This means hair will grow finer, lighter, slower, more sporadic, or not at all for a long period of time. There are also many factors that may determine an individual's long term outcome. With realistic expectations, proper maintenance, and properly performed treatments, Laser Hair Removal is extremely beneficial!
  • WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED WITH LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
    All areas of the body can be treated!
  • CAN ANYONE BENEFIT FROM LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
    Since the laser targets pigment in the hair, the best candidate for Laser Hair Removal would have dark hair and light skin. However, it is still extremely effective on all skin and most hair types except for white or gray hair, blonde (peach fuzz), and red hair.
  • WHAT SHOULD BE DONE BEFORE A LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENT?
    Before your treatment, it is very important that the area to be treated has not been directly exposed to the sun or tanning booths for at least two weeks. Sunless tanning should be avoided for at least one week before a treatment. We recommend that you shave the area one to two days before your appointment. Waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or any other method that removes the root of the hair must also be discontinued at least four weeks prior to treatment. The hair must be present in the follicle for the treatment to be effective. You cannot receive a treatment if you are taking antibiotics, Accutane, or using Retin-A or other topical acne creams (only if in area being treated), have any auto immune diseases or are pregnant or actively trying.

Appointments canceled or changed less than 24hrs prior to appointment will be subject to a cancellation fee and will be automatically charged to your card on file.   • CONTRAINDICATIONS/ PREPARATION
    Please notify us if you have any of the contraindications listed for your scheduled service. Please follow all pre&post treatment instructions.
  • MULTIPLE SERVICES or TREATMENT AREAS
    If you are booking multiple treatment areas of Laser Hair Removal, please select the largest or lengthiest area first and list the other treatment areas in the comments box provided. If we are unable to accommodate the additional treatment areas in the given time slot, we will reach out and suggest either making an additional appointment for the other areas, or creating a new appointment with a longer time slot. If you are booking multiple different services, please select "book another appointment" after you've completed your first appointment booking to book another service.
  • FORMS
    After booking, you will receive an email with electronic forms to complete prior to your arrival. If you are an existing client and have already completed forms for this service within the past year, you do not need to fill them out again unless you are booking a new service or if there are any changes to your medical history. These forms will also provide pre-treatment instructions if necessary. Please complete all necessary forms more than 24hrs prior to your appointment to avoid cancellation. Please check spam/promotions folders. If you do not receive your forms within 24hrs of booking, please contact us. If you are booking the appointment for a minor, a parent or guardian must sign their forms.
  • TREATMENT INTERVALS
    Please remember when booking that certain treatments require a specific amount of time inbetween treatments. Skincare treatments are typically spaced 2-4 weeks. Treatment intervals for laser hair removal are: 4-6 weeks: Face and neck(front) 6-8 weeks: Mid front of the body (arms/hands, underarms, chest, abdomen, bikini/brazilian) 8-10 weeks: Lower/back of the body (legs, back, buttocks, back of neck) *If you are treating multiple areas, please try to book them together at an interval that works for all areas (i.e. if you are treating the face and underarms, you can book them together every 6 weeks. If you are booking face, underarms, and legs, then we recommend booking the face at four weeks and face again, underarms, and legs at 8 weeks)

  • What does the treatment feel like?
    Most people feel mild discomfort during the treatment. A topical numbing agent may be applied to reduce discomfort.
  • How many treatments will I need?
    Depending on the condition being treated, typically 3-5 treatment sessions are recommended approximately one month apart.
  • What skin concerns can be treated?
    The Lux1540 helps to regenerate the skin which leads to an overall improvement in skin tone and texture, improves fines lines and wrinkles, melasma, and acne and surgical scars.
  • What type of results can I expect?
    You can expect to see an improved appearance of your skin tone and texture over the first 6 weeks after your treatment.
  • What types of stretch marks can be treated?
    Lux1540 is designed to treat stretch marks caused by pregnancy, weight gain and body changes due to puberty.
  • How does it work?
    Pulses of fractional laser light are used to break down old and damaged tissue, triggering your body to create new tissue at the area being treated. This new tissue will provide healthier skin that’s more even in both color and texture.
  • Am I a good candidate for the treatment?
    Lux1540 can be safely used on most skin types. During you consultation, we will determine if you are a good candidate based on a variety of factors.
  • What types of scars can be treated?
    Lux1540 is designed to treat surgical and acne scars on any area of the body, including the face.
  • Is there downtime?
    Typically, you can resume regular daily activities he same day as your treatment, if a more aggressive treatment is performed you may require a couple days of healing. Some swelling and redness may be present for the first few days after treatment.
